High Court Issues Notice To AMU Student Under CAA Agitation 2019-20

Due to alleged inflammatory speeches at the CAA agitation in 2019-20, the Delhi HC has issued a notice to Sharjeel Imam, a student of Aligarh Muslim University. As per the charge sheet, "Imam is accused of delivering seditious speeches and inciting a particular section of the community to indulge in unlawful activities, detrimental to sovereignty and integrity of the nation." However, Imam was arrested in 2020 from Bihar.

Delhi HC Orders Man To Work In Animal Care Centre For Violating Bail condition

In a bizarre order, the Delhi High Court directed a man to ''render service gratuitously'' at the Sanjay Gandhi Animal Care Centre because he violated one of his bail conditions. Reportedly, the man wasn't allowed to leave the National Capital Territories (NCT) as per the Court's order of September 28, 2020. He'll work at the Centre for three weeks, starting from December 6, 2021, between 1 to 4 PM.

Lalu Prasad Yadav Gets Admitted To AIIMS Delhi

Lalu Prasad Yadav, chief of Rashtriya Janata Dal, was rushed to the All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) in New Delhi after complaining of fever on November 27. His condition is said to be stable, reported Zee News. Notably, Yadav was getting treatment at Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences for two years in Jharkhand's Ranchi but was shifted to Delhi AIIMS in January.

Aryan Khan Marks His Presence Before NCB After Getting Bail: Drugs Case

Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan on November 12 appeared for the first time before Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) between 11 PM to 2 PM for questioning in the "drugs on cruise" case in Mumbai. Earlier on November 7, Aryan Khan missed the questioning citing fever. He was granted bail on October 29 by Bombay High Court on the condition that he has to appear before NCB every Friday.

Yuvraj Singh Arrested, Released On Bail For Passing 'Casteist' Remarks

A case was filed against Indian cricketer, Yuvraj Singh in February 2020 by a Hansi-based resident. Allegedly, Singh made 'casteist' remarks on the Dalit society, when talking about Indian spinner, Yuzvendra Chahal's TikTok videos. The former cricketer was arrested, but released on bail, after a three-hour investigation. Singh later apologized for the remarks made and said he was misunderstood.

Mumbai Court Refuses Aryan Khan's Bail In Drug Seizure Case

Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan, Arbaaz Merchant, and Munmun Dhamecha were denied bail on October 8 by Esplanade court in Mumbai. The lawsuit revolves around the seizure of drugs after a raid on a cruise ship party off the coast in Mumbai. Aryan has been detained at Mumbai's Arthur Road jail's quarantine cell. As per reports, Aryan will go to the Mumbai session court to file a bail petition.

Raj Kundra Released From Mumbai Jail After Securing Bail

Shilpa Shetty's husband Raj Kundra was released from judicial custody in Mumbai's Arthur Road jail on September 21 after almost two months of arrest in a case related to pornographic films. A day earlier, Kundra was granted bail by Chief Metropolitan Magistrate SB Bhajipale after signing a bond of Rs 50,000. Meanwhile, the court also granted bail to Ryan Thorpe, Kundra's associate and another main accused in the case.

Businessman Raj Kundra, arrested for his porn films racket, will stay in jail till August 20 after his bail rejection. An officer had claimed that a charge sheet will be filed against Kundra and 10 others if his bail is rejected in the specified 60 days since the arrest. However, now a charge sheet will be filed against Kundra, while another one was filed against the nine accused in April.

UP: 21 Prisoners Refuse Parole Due To COVID, "Better Care In Jails"

In an interesting incident, 21 prisoners in Uttar Pradesh have denied to avail parole due to the COVID-19. The prisoners cited "better care in jails", including better health care and nutritious food, as prime reason to deny the parole that was being granted on the order of the Supreme Court. Earlier in 2020, nearly 11,000 prisoners were released on parole or interim bail in the state.
