China: Power Production Utility Claims 58% Loss In Profits
China on October 27, reported heavy loss in profits due to the surging coal prices. Huadian Power International, a subsidiary of China Huadian Corp, reported that the profits for January- September period dropped 58% which is estimated to be 1.8 billion Yuan. Analysts blame the losses incurred due to an incredible surge in thermal coal prices, along with a high demand of electricity in the country.

China's Coal Shortage Likely To Remain For Few Months: Experts
China's thermal coal future plunged on October 22 following the government's intervention to boost supply and ease the prices of the commodity amid a widespread power crisis. The country has been pushing coal miners to ramp up output and hike imports, thereby, power stations can rebuild stockpiles before winter. However, analysts believe that shortages are likely to persist for at least another few months.

Beijing Urges US To Stop Demonising China, Change Its Stance
Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Xie Feng has urged the US to "stop demonising China" during the talks with Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman, a high-grade official to visit china under Biden's rule. Though Sherman's visit to China is considered as a pathway to improve the US-China ties, the visit did have a had a bitter start as "Wang Yi", China's Foreign Minister threatened the US before Sherman landed.

China: Beijing Lifts Mask Restrictions after going 'Corona-free' for 13 Days
The Health Authority of Beijing has relaxed the guidelines of wearing masks. The people are not required to wear masks outdoors as no new cases were reported in the past 13 days. The health Authority believes that after two rounds of lockdown, the situation has been brought to a standstill. However, a significant proportion of people were seen wearing masks, as they said they feel safer upon wearing masks.
