CGST Mumbai Zone Busts Fake GST Invoice Office, Arrests Building Proprietor
In Mumbai's Bhiwandi, a fake GST Invoice office has been busted by the Central Goods and Service Tax (CGST) Bhiwandi Commissionerate in Mumbai Zone. On August 19, the centre, which used to pass fake input tax credit, was worth Rs 18 crores, with bogus invoices. The anti-evasion wing of the CGST conducted a raid and arrested the proprietor of the building. Furthermore, a case has been registered under CGST Act.

26 Yr Old Rape Accused From UP Arrested In Maharashtra
Maharashtra police have arrested a rape accused after two years of investigation. According to senior inspector Sital Raut, the case was registered against the 26-year-old at Raebareli in Uttar Pradesh, accused for raping and threatening a widow in his village. However, based on the mobile phone location, the Raebareli police found he was hiding in the powerloom town of Bhiwandi in Maharashtra.

16 Yr Old Maha Girl Disguises As Boy In Search Of Job, Stays In Bhiwandi
A 16-year-old girl disguised herself as a boy for eight months and landed in Bhiwandi in search of a job amidst the pandemic-imposed lockdown. The girl ran away from her home at Hadapsar in Pune in October 2020. She had cut her hair short, dressed as a boy, and named herself Samir Shaikh to secure menial jobs for money. The police found her identity and returned her to her mother.

Maharashtra: Three-storey Building Collapsed in Bhiwandi; 10 people die
Atleast 10 people have lost their lives and over 25 people were feared trapped after a three-storey building in Patel Compound area at Bhiwandi collapsed on September 21. Reportedly, a rescue operation by the National Disaster Response Force(NDRF) is in progress. NDRF officials said that the locals rescued over 20 people before the arrival of the response force. President Kovind and PM Modi expressed their grief at the tragic incident.
