Bihar Govt Allots Rs 660 Cr To Compensate Farmers' Loss
The Bihar government under the leadership of Nitish Kumar has decided to compensate farmers who lost their crops due to rainfall and waterlogging. The Bihar cabinet approved Rs 550 crore for farmers who lost their standing crop and Rs 100 crores for those who couldn't even sow this Kharif season. Reportedly, the concerned district officials will decide the subsidy after the assessment of the damage.

Schools In Bihar To Re-Open In January For Senior Secondary Students
Schools in Bihar including both government and private, are set to re-open for the students of class IX to XII from January 4. The Government has resolved to distribute 73 lakh face-masks at the government schools. According to the data revealed by the Education Department, the total number of students enrolled for class IX to XII is around 36.61 lakh. However, the School authorities have been advised to ensure the safety of the students.

Bihar Govt Wins Digital India Awards In "Pandemic Category"
Various departments under the Bihar government have won the Digital India Awards instituted by the Central Government. Bihar's Chief Minister Secretariat, the Disaster Management Department and the National Informatics Centre (NIC) were honoured under the "pandemic category". Bihar Slashes Cost Of COVID-19 Test At Private Labs
Bihar government on December 2 released the revised COVID-19 test rates for private labs. The RT-PCR test was slashed down from Rs 1500 to Rs 800 and the rapid antigen test, from Rs 400 to Rs 250. However, Rs 300-charge for sample collection from home was intact. The COVID-19 tests at the government facilities will remain free of cost. Few states including Delhi and Gujarat among others have already capped the prices.

PM Modi to Inaugurate LPG Pipeline, Bottling Plants in Bihar on Sept 13
On September 13, three petroleum sector projects in Bihar will be inaugurated by PM Narendra Modi. Bihar CM Nitish Kumar will also be attending the inauguration ceremony, which will be held through video conferencing. According to official statement, the projects include an LPG pipeline project and two LPG bottling plants. Reportedly, LPG bottling plant at Banka will help meet cooking gas demand of the state.

Bihar: Govt Declares 15% Hike in Salaries of Teachers and Librarians from April 2021
Bihar Government announced a 15 percent increase in the salaries of teachers and librarians, to come into effect from April 2021. As per the State Education Department, employees working under educational institutes of Panchayati Raj and urban local bodies like the Municipal institutions will avail the salary benefits. The order regarding the hike in the basic salary of 15 percent has been issued on August 29.
