RJD President Lalu Prasad Yadav Slips On Staircase, Breaks Shoulder, Injures Back
Lalu Prasad Yadav, the president of the RJD, fell on July 4, breaking his shoulder and injuring his back. The former chief minister of Bihar, who was staying at his wife Rabri Devi's house, also a former chief minister, fell down the steps. Prasad, who has a number of medical issues, was immediately taken to the hospital. The septuagenarian was "experiencing no problems" other than shoulder and back discomfort.

Crude Bomb Blasts In Patna Civil Court, Police Sub-Inspector Wounded
A police officer who allegedly brought the explosive for a probe was wounded when a crude bomb detonated inside the Bihar Civil Court on July 1. Umakant Rai, a sub-inspector of police, has a broken arm but is not in danger, stated Sabiul Haq, SHO of Pirbahore police station. Investigations are underway to determine if the devices had been properly defused before being taken to court.

Gunpowder Produced In Patna Civil Court Blasts Injuring One Cop
A low-intensity blast occurred in a Civil Court in Patna injuring one police officer, on July 1. Reportedly, the police, after seizing gunpowder from Patna University hostel, produced it in the court. The blast occured immediately after the gunpowder was kept in the premises. Assistant Sub-Inspector Kadam Kuwan Madan Singh sustained injuries to his right hand, however is reportedly out of danger.

Thunderstorms, Lightning Storms Kill 16 People In Bihar; Heavy Rain Forecast: IMD
16 people died in seven districts of Bihar on June 28 as a result of lightning strikes and thunderstorms. East Champaran had four lightning-related fatalities, Bhojpur had three, Saran had three, West Champaran had two, Araria had two, Banka had one, and Muzaffarpur had one. India Meteorological Department forecasted heavy rain in Bihar on June 29 and 30. However, moderate rain is expected throughout Bihar on July 1 and 2.

Two Students In Hostel Fall Off Second Floor After Scuffle During B'day Party: Punjab
In Punjab's Jalandhar, a birthday party turned tragic, when two boys in hostel entered into a scuffle, which ended in both falling off the second floor. Reportedly, the clash sparked due to an issue of contribution of money. While one died on spot, the other is undergoing treatment. Both the students hailed from Bihar, and a case under Section 304 of IPC has been filed against the hospitalised boy.

Drug Inspector's Residence Raided In Patna, Huge Pile Of Cash Seized: Bihar
In Bihar's Patna, Drug Inspector Jitendra Kumar's residence was raidrd in a disproportionate assets case, on June 26. Reportedly, a large pile of cash was seized from his possession, which took the officials several hours to count. The bundles were of all denominations between Rs 100 and Rs 2,000. The officials also found documents of various properties, huge amount of gold and silver, and four luxury cars.

17 Die Due To Lightning & Thunderstorms In Bihar; CM Nitish Kumar Expresses Grief
Grieving the demise of the deaths of 17 persons due to lightning and thunderstorms in Bihar, CM Nitish Kumar expressed his condolences. Furthermore, he announced an ex-gratia amount of Rs 4 lakh each to the families of the deceased. Reportedly, six people died in Bhagalpur, three in Vaishali, two in Khagaria, one in Katihar, one in Saharsa, one in Madhepura, two in Banka and one in Munger.

Agnipath Scheme: Protests Worsen, Trains Disrupted, Roads Blocked In Bihar
Protests continue to prevail in Bihar against 'Agnipath', a recruitment scheme introduced by the Central government. The protests on June 17, has disrupted the movement of trains in various districts of Bihar. Various roads were blocked at many places and tires were also burnt on the railway track. Furthermore, students joined the protest and created a ruckus at Sahebpurkamal railway station.

Female Cop Pushed Off Moving Train In Katihar: Bihar
In Bihar's Katihar district, woman police constable Arti Kumari who was resisting a theft bid, was thrown off a moving train, on June 15. The incident occurred in the Samastipura-Katihar passenger train which was abour to reach the Katihar junction. Reportedly, four to five miscreants tried to allegedly snatch her mobile and purses and when she resisted, they pushed her off the train.
