Fully Deployed Army Force At LAC Is New Normal
After the constant tussle between India-China military, the fully deployed Indian and the Chinese army at the Line of Actual Control (LAC) is new normal. On March 18, Army General Manoj Pande said, "China had forwardly deployed 50,000 troops with heavy weaponry since the PLA transgressions in Galwan, Gogra-Hot Springs and Pangong-Tso on May 5, 2020. Similarly, Indian army is also deployed for the same to tackle the situation.

Indian Army Cheetah Helicopter Crashes In Arunachal Pradesh
An Indian Army Cheetah Helicopter crashed near Mandala, Arunachal Pradesh, on March 16. The helicopter was performing an operational sortie near Bomdila, when it was reported to have lost contact with the air traffic control (ATC.) Search parties have been organied, and operations are underway to look for the crew in the helicopter. Furthermore, this is not the first time such tragic crash was reported in AP.

Army Court Martial Recommends Dismissal & Jail Term For NCO Found Guilty Of Sexual Harassment
An Army Court Martial, has recommended dismissal and one-year jail term for non-commissioned officer (NCO) who was found guilty of sexually harassing a female captain. The incident reportedly occurred last year, when the female officer had visited Sikkim for a river rafting course. The accused reportedly entered the official accommodation of the female officer, and made “sexually coloured” remarks.

CDS General Anil Chauhan Meets Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh
Newly appointed Chief of Defence Staff, Lieutenant General Anil Chauhan met with union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on September 30. This came hours after General Chauhan officially took charge as the new CDS. This is also the first time a retired officer has been reappointed in this position. Notably, India’s first CDS General Bipin Rawat died in a plane crash in Tamil Nadu, last year December.

Lt General Anil Chauhan Becomes New Chief Of Defence Staff
Lieutenant General Anil Chauhan has been appointed as the new Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) on September 27. General Chauhan had retired as the Eastern Army Commander and was serving as the Military Advisor to the National Security Council. This marks the first time a retired officer was appointed at such a position, and a gazette notification was issued to facilitate a change in rules for appointment.

Agnipath Scheme: Army Conducts Pre-Training For Aspirants In North Kashmir’s Baramulla

Marking the historic 75 years of Independence Day, on August 15, the Defence Forces of India are celebrating the 76th Independence Day. As part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (AKAM), commemorative visits are being undertaken by Indian Navy ships to foreign ports on every continent (except Antarctica). Former England spinner Monty Panesar has condemned the Bollywood movie Laal Singh Chaddha. The Aamir Khan starter "Laal Singh Chaddha" released on August 11, and gained a lot of criticism, and trending with #Boycott. Amongst the critique, Monty Panesar was disappointed over the portrayal of the lead character, who is a Sikh and called it disrespectful and disgraceful to the Indian Armed Forces, Indian Army and Sikhs.

Agnipath Scheme: Agniveers Will Have High Stature In Society, Says NSA Ajit Doval
National Security Advisor (NSA) of India Ajit Doval said that Agniveers after four years of service in the Indian armed forces, will have a "high stature in the society". He said that in the fast-growing Indian economy, there will be opportunities, even in for higher education. He further stated that the Agniveers will have age as their advantage, and will also be disciplined after the four-year engagement period.

Indian Army Releases Notification For Agnipath Scheme; Recruitment Begins From July
Indian Army published a notification on June 20 for Agniveer recruiting drive commencing from July, which is part of Agnipath short-term service plan.
