Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya Adopts 40 TB Patients On Occasion Of PM Modi’s B’Day
Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya has reportedly adopted 40 patients of Tuberculosis, on the occasion of PM Modi’s 72nd birthday, on September 17. He stated that the patients were from his birthplace of Palitana in Gujarat, and encouraged public participation in building a “TB-free India”. Mandaviya also participated in a blood donation camp as part of Raktdaan Amrit Mahotsav, at Delhi’s Safdarjung.

Tamil Nadu Govt Working On App To List Blood Donors At Various Locations: Ma Subramanian
Tamil Nadu health minister Ma Subramanian said that the Health Department is working on an application that will list the names of regular blood donors at different locations of the state. He said that in 2021, 3.4 lakh units of blood was donated, where every unit helps four persons. However, he said that the current amount of donors is not sufficient. Also, more blood banks will reportedly be installed soon.

NBTC Asks To Defer Blood Donation For 28 Days After Last COVID Jab
The National Blood Transfusion Commission in its recent order has mentioned that one cannot donate blood for 28 days after taking the last shot of the COVID-19 vaccine. Reportedly, the period is applicable irrespective of the vaccine shot one takes. While the two shots are scheduled 28 days apart, one cannot donate blood for 56 days after taking the first shot.
