Karnataka CM Appoints New Health Minister After COVID Cases Increase in the State
Karnataka CM BS Yediyurappa on October 12 asked State Medical Education Minister K Sudhakar to take charge of the health portfolio of the state. Reportedly, the change in the cabinet was made owing to raise in COVID cases in the state. After taking charge, Sudhakar said, “My priority is to bring Covid-19 under control, decrease death rate and make sure people get easy treatment.”

COVID Negative Report Mandatory To Meet Karnataka CM
With rising COVID-19 cases in Karnataka, the CM office has directed that anyone meeting CM BS Yediyurappa should produce a COVID-19 negative report or should undergo an RT-PCR test at the gate. However, in case of exigencies, visitors would be allowed to take an antigen test. The move is intended to prevent the coronavirus outbreak. Earlier in August, the CM tested positive for COVID-19, albeit he recovered after nine days.

Karnataka Government Decides to Recover Cost of Damage from Culprits
Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa on August 17 said that the state government has decided to recover the cost of private and public property destroyed during recent Bengaluru riots from the culprits. CM Yediyurappa said the state government will request the High Court to appoint a "Claim Commissioner" to assess the damage. He also said that three special prosecutors will be appointed for the speedy trial of the cases.
