J&K: Army Jawan Martyred In Ceasefire Violation By Pakistan In Poonch
An Indian soldier was martyred after Pakistani troops on January 21 violated the ceasefire at the Line of Control (LoC). The soldier, Havildar Nirmal Singh of J&K Rifles, sustained critical injuries in the cross-border firing at Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district, and later succumbed to them. Pakistan Violates Ceasefire Norms At Kathua; Indian Forces Retaliate
In an account of repeated ceasefire violation, the Pakistani troops had launched firings at the border camps and villages of Kathua district in Jammu & Kashmir on December 13. However, the Border Security Forces from Pansar post involved in retaliation that continued for nearly six hours. Due to the heavy firings, the villagers had been forced to spend the night in underground bunkers. Moreover, no casualties have been reported.

Armenia, Azerbaijan Endorse Peace In Nagorno-Karabakh Region
Armenia and Azerbaijan on October 30 agreed to defuse Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Both the countries agreed to exchange dead bodies of soldiers and share list of detained war prisoners. The peace-formula was devised by members of OSCE Minsk Group - France, Russia and US - with foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan at a meeting in Geneva. Both the countries have been fighting over the contentious region for over 25 years.

J&K: Two Indian Soldiers Killed After Pakistan Violates Ceasefire
Pakistani troops violated the ceasefire on October 1 in the Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir. Reportedly, two Indian soldiers lost their lives while four others got injured. Defence spokesperson Colonel Rajesh Kalia informed that the Indian Army gave a "befitting response" to the Pakistani firing. Earlier, on September 30, one soldier had died in the Poonch district due to another ceasefire violation by Pakistan.

J&K: Pakistani Troops Violate Ceasefire; One Indian Soldier Killed
Pakistan on September 30 violated the ceasefire again, killing one Indian soldier and injuring another one. Reportedly, Indian soldier Lance Naik Karnail Singh lost his life after Pakistani Army started firing and rapid shelling of mortars along the Line of Control (LOC) in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir. The injured soldier has been hospitalized. The officials informed that the Indian Army responded appropriately.

Iraq: Rocket Strike Targetting US Troops Kills Five Civilians
Five Iraqi civilians lost their lives to a rocket attack on September 28 that targetted the US troops at Baghdad Airport. The attack came following the US's threat of closing its embassy and withdrawing its troops. However, no rebel group has claimed the responsibility yet. Iraqi army criticised the attack, saying the groups wanted to "create chaos and terrorise people". The US has asked Iraq to take "decisive action".

Pakistani Troops Violate Ceasefire Along the LOC in J&K's Poonch District
During the early hours of September 5, Pakistani troops opened fire and used intense motor shelling at three sectors along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district. A defense spokesperson informed that the violation of the ceasefire agreement happened across the border in Shahpur, Kirni, and Degwar sectors. He also told that the Indian Army responded appropriately and no casualty took place.

Pakistan Breaches Ceasefire Agreement; Indian Army Strikes Back
On August 26, Pakistani army violated border ceasefire, and initiated small firing along the Line of Control (LOC) in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch. The Pakistani army at 6:50 pm, fired with small arms and shelled mortars in Shahpur, Kirni and Qasba sectors. Reportedly, the Indian army returned fire to the attack. The incident marks the fifth time in the last eight days that Pakistan has violated the ceasefire agreement.
