Centre Appoints Samir Kamat As New DRDO Chief
The central government has appointed Samir Kamat as the new chief of Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), on August 25. Kamat is a distinguished scientist and Director General, Naval Systems and Materials. Kamat will hold the aforementioned office till he attains the age of 60 years, or until further orders. Meanwhile, G Satheesh Reddy (59) has been appointed as the scientific advisor to the Defence Minister.
