Pakistan Election Body Disqualified Pak Ex PM Imran Khan
In another setback to jailed former Pakistan PM Imran Khan, Pakistan's top election body disqualified him for five years following his conviction in a Toshikhana Gift Corruption Case. In a notification issued on August 8, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) said that the Chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) was disqualified after being found guilty of corrupt practices under Section 167 of the Elections Act, 2017.

National Herald Case: ED Summons Congress Leaders Sonia Gandhi & Rahul Gandhi
Congress party's interim president Sonia Gandhi and Congress MP Rahil Gandhi have been summoned by Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the National Herald Case which was closed in 2015. The summoning has come after ED questioned Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge and Congress treasurer Pawan Bhansal, in relation to the case, in April. The 'National Herald Case' is a corruption case filed by economist and politician Subramanian Swamy.
