CNN Terminates 3 Unvaccinated Employees Working From Office

Three employees of CNN have been fired for violating the company’s “honour system” as they were working from office unvaccinated, stated CNN President Jeff Zucker in an internal email memo. In a tweet shared by a senior media reporter of CNN mentioned that Zucker wrote, “Let me be clear — we have a zero-tolerance policy on this.” However, no name of the office has been mentioned in which the termination took place.

Johnson & Johnson Seeks Approval For Single-Dose Vaccine Launch

US-based pharmaceutical company Johnson & Johnson (J&J) to likely launch a single-dose vaccine against COVID-19 for emergency use in India. Reportedly, the government is yet to approve the proposal. The company also said they aim to launch the vaccine in collaboration with Hyderabad-based Biological E Limited. Notably, the vaccine's phase three clinical trial shows an efficiency of 85% against the Covid-19 strain.

NMC Starts Vaccination Drive For Bedridden Patients

A special vaccination drive has been initiated for the bedridden patients by the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) on August 2. Bedridden citizens can register through its website to avail vaccination. This facility is available to those bedridden patients who are likely to stay in the same state for the next six months. Besides, Chandrashekhar Tambe, a 58-year-old bedridden patient was the first one to get jabbed through this drive.

Bombay HC Asks Maharashtra Govt To Allow Benefit Of Local Train To All

Mumbai To Pilot Run Door-To-Door Vaccine For Immobile Citizens

Two Doses Of Covid Vaccine Prevents Deaths By 95%, Says ICMR Study

According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), two doses of Covid vaccines provided 95% protection against the deadly virus amidst the second wave. Reportedly, the single dose is 82% effective against preventing death due to Covid-19. The study was conducted on about 1,17,524 policemen. China Developed 'CoronaVac' For Children Classified As Safe

China's CoronaVac has been classified as 'safe' for children aged 3-7 Years of age, according to a study published in a recent edition of the journal 'Lancet Infectious Diseases.' Reportedly, the seroconversion rates of neutralizing antibodies in children with two doses of vaccine 1.5mg & 3mg, were over 96 percent. However, the patients will be observed for further study in terms of immunogenicity and safety.

Union Govt Claims Covishield, Covaxin Effective Against SARS-CoV-2

The Union Government has addressed that 'Covishield' produced by Serum Institute, and 'Covaxin' by Bharat Biotech is assumed to be effective against SARS-CoV-2 variants Delta, Alpha and Gamma. However, the efficacy test is still under process and results will be out within the next week. As per the ICMR Director General, Balram Bhargava, Covishield reduces its efficiency by 2.5 times with Alpha while Covaxin is potent with Delta.
