Former Indian Cricket team captain Virat Kohli has entered the elite club of 'Top five batters' in the History of Indian Cricket. The milestone was achieved aftr surpassing Virender Sehwag. Kohli is placed at the 5th spot in the list of top run-getters for India in Test cricket with 8,503 runs. The top four on the list are: Sachin Tendulkar(15,921) Rahul Dravid(13,265,) Sunil Gavaskar(10,122)  and VVS Laxman(8781.)

Global hospitality major OYO on July 7, said that it will add 500 new hotels across several host cities of the upcoming Men’s Cricket World Cup. These will be added over the next three months to meet the anticipated increase in booking demand. The announcement came as a major relief to boost hospitality and meet demands of the fans, arriving in Indian cities to witness the ODI World Cup.

Ahead of the 2023 World Cup, the men in blue will be playing against Australia for One Day Internationals (ODIs.) The ODI-series matches will be played after Asia Cup, which is scheduled to end on September 17. These three ODI series will be played ahead of the World Cup and will be working as a warm-up for India. Furthermore, KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer and Jasprit Bumrah will return to field.

Addressing the delegates at the Gala dinner, Prime Minister Narendra Modi brought up the topic of cricket and its growing popularity in the United States of America. The 2023 ODI World Cup, which will be hosted by India, in October, sees the Americans fighting for a chance to participate as they battle in the qualifiers. The Indian PM wished the team success as aim to qualify for the prestigious tournament.

The Asia Cup 2023 is set to begin from August 31 to September 17, confirmed the Asian Cricket Council on June 15.  The tournament will feature India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Nepal with the teams competing in a total of 13 ODI matches. The tournament will be held in a hybrid model, of which four matches will be hosted by Pakistan, whereas remaining by Sri Lanka.
