DCW Issues Summon To Delhi Police Over Sexual Act At Delhi PG

The Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) issued a summon in a case of sexual harassment, on June 26. Notably, the DCW took a notice of an incident, in which a youth indulged in a sexual act, and was allegedly masturbating in front of a female, at a PG, in North Delhi. The incident occurred on June 12, whereas the police issued notice to June 19, but failed to take action.

Child Trafficking Racket Busted In Delhi; 8 Arrested Including 6 Women, 7.5-Year-Old Rescued

A syndicate of child traffickers was busted by Delhi police which led to the arrest of eight persons including six women. The police also rescued a 7.5-year-old girl during the operation. The operation was initiated after a complaint was filed by the councilor of Delhi Commission for Women (DCW). According to the complaint, a 3-day-old baby was sold, which stirred tensions.

Women's Panel Issues Notice To SBI Over 'Unfit Pregnant Women' Guidelines: Delhi

The DCW has issued a notice to the SBI for stopping a three-month pregnant woman from joining work. Swati Maliwal, the chairperson of the commission, termed the rule as 'discriminatory and illegal'. The panel asked SBI to explain the process of formation of guidelines and, provide names of officials who approved them. The decision is contrary to maternity benefits provided under the Code of Social Security, 2020, stated the commission.

2 Minors Arrested In Delhi, Alleged Of Raping 9-Year-Old

In Delhi's Shastri Park two minor boys were detained on January 25, alleged of raping a nine-year-old girl. The accused took the girl to isolated house and raped her. Victim's mother filed a complaint with the local police, following which was medical examination was done. "She is battling for her life in ICU due to severe damage to her private parts," said DCW chairperson Swati Maliwal.
