Uttar Pradesh: 8 Months Baby Dies Due To Phone Battery Explosion

In Uttar Pradesh's Bareilly, an eight-month-old baby reportedly died after the battery of a cellphone kept near her exploded.  The police confirmed the incident on September 14, saying the keypad phone was kept on charging and already had a swollen battery when it exploded next to the baby. The police condemned the incident and blamed parents' negligence, which caused the unfortunate demise of the baby.

Samar 'Badru' Banerjee, Former Captain Of Indian Football Olympic Team, Passes Away

Samar 'Badru' Banerjee, a former Indian footballer and Olympian, died at the age of 92. During the 1956 Summer Olympics in Melbourne, Banerjee captained Team India. He had Alzheimer's disease, high blood pressure, and azotemia, among other problems. A CT scan revealed that there was bleeding in the brain. However, after a few days of struggling, he passed away on August 20 at the SSKM Hospital in Kolkata.

Landslide In Himachal Pradesh Kills Woman, Child, 2 Injured

Passenger Bus Collides With Oil Tanker In Pakistan's Punjab, Killing 20 People, Injuring 6

A passenger bus collided with an oil tanker in Pakistan's Punjab province, killing at least 20 passengers and injuring six more. The bus was transporting 26 persons, including a driver and conductor, from Lahore to Karachi. The tragedy happened on a highway in Multan and was apparently caused by overspeeding. After the accident, both the bus and the tanker caught fire, killing up to 18 passengers on the spot.

Six Border Police Officers Die As Bus Plunges Into Canyon In J&K

Former Deutsche Bank Co-CEO Anshu Jain Dies At 59

Anshu Jain, worldwide banker from India, died after a nearly five-year fight with cancer. He was the previous co-CEO of Deutsche Bank and was instrumental in the growth of the German bank. Jain died in London after being diagnosed with duodenal cancer in 2017. Jain outlived his first cancer diagnosis by four years because of “a combination of exhaustive personal research, tactical skill, amazing caregivers, and sheer force of will.”
