Pink Line Service Of Delhi Metro Restored, Says DMRC

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) said that the disruption on the Pink Line has been normalised as before, in Delhi on October 11. The delay in service caused inconvenience to many passengers between the Mayur Vihar Pocket 1 and Shiv Vihar stations. Reportedly, the pink line between Majlis Park-Shiv Vihar corridor will be extended to Maujpur, making India's longest single metro corridor, ranging approximately 70 kilometres.

Operations Resumed At Metro Stations Shut Due To Farmer's Protest: Delhi

Taking an initiative to prevent gender discrimination, Delhi Metro has decided to install signages of ''Transgender'' and the symbol adjacent to separate toilets that are dedicated to ''Persons with Disability'', providing easy access to transgenders. Delhi Govt Inaugurates 'Pink Line' Metro; Longest Corridor In Region

The Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, along with the CM Arvind Kejriwal inaugurated Delhi's Pink Line Metro on August 6 through a virtual conference. The Union Minister said, "important transport hubs, markets, residential areas across the city will now get connected benefiting lakhs of passengers." However, the pink line is considered Delhi's longest Corridor of 59 Km and the passengers can avail of the services now.

Delhi's First Transit Oriented Hub Gets Approval

Phase one of the Integrated Development of East Delhi Hub project gets recommended environmental approval by Environment Ministry's Expert Appraisal Committee. The project requires the cutting of 123 trees and transplantation of 20 more. The site of Delhi's First Transit-Oriented Hub will be planted with 3,200 trees. The project will be developed around the Blue and Pink metro lines of the Delhi Metro.

Delhi Govt Announces Relaxations To COVID-19 Lockdown

The Delhi government has announced new relaxations to the ongoing COVID-19 lockdown in the state, effective from June 7. While private workplaces are allowed to function at 50% capacity, government offices can run with 100% of group A staff and 50% of group B. The Delhi Metro services will also resume with 50% occupancy. Besides, malls and local markets can operate on an odd-even basis from 10AM to 8PM.

Delhi Vehicle Count Per 1000 Stands At 643; Doubled From 2005-06

The number of vehicular units in Delhi per 1000 individuals has increased from 317 (in 2005-06) to 643 (in 2019-20), as revealed by the Delhi Economy Survey report. The report stated that four-wheelers make nearly 30% of the total 1.18 lakh crore vehicles while two-wheelers make 67% of it. Delhi Metro To Provide Real-time Waiting Period At Select Stations

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has declared that it would provide a real-time waiting period for commuters at select stations. This will be done to avoid rush at the stations during peak hours and prevent congestion at entry and exit points. The average waiting time will be provided if trains get delayed beyond 20 minutes. The DMRC will provide updates through its social media handles.

Delhi Metro Introduces Multipurpose 'Delhi Metro-SBI Card' For Commuters

To promote digital transactions and help safe commute during the pandemic, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation, partnering with SBI, has launched the "Delhi Metro-SBI Card". The card can be used as a normal credit card as well as a smart card for metro travels. It offers an auto top-up facility, whenever balance goes below Rs 100. Commuters can get the card through SBI portal or kiosks installed at metro stations.
