The Jammu and Kashmir police killed two terrorists identified as Aijaaz Rasool Nazar and Shahid Ahmad in an encounter in the Nowgam region of Srinagar, on September 14 night. The terrorists were said to be affiliated with an outfit Ansar-Ghazwat-ul-Hind and were alleged of killing several migrants in the region. The updates were confirmed by the security forces, which launched a joint operation after receiving inputs from terrorists. 

An encounter broke out between militants and security forces in Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir, confirmed police on September 5, evening. In an encounter that broke out on July 20 morning in Amritsar, two shooters of Sidhu Moosewala were shot dead. In Jammu and Kashmir's Kupwara region, the security forces killed two terrorists, in an encounter, on June 19. The J&K Police confirmed the deceased terrorist to be a part of the terror outfit, affiliated to Pakistan's Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). The police launched an operation on the instance of an arrested terrorist, Showket Ahmed Sheikh, in Lolab area of Kupwara in north Kashmir. They cordoned off the area, confirmed police on Twitter.

In Jammu and Kashmir,  Adil Parray, a terrorist of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) was killed in an encounter with a "small team" of police on June 12.
