"Staggering" 28 Trillion Tonnes of Ice Lost from Earth Since 1994

By analyzing satellite surveys of Earth’s poles and glaciers, UK scientists found that a "staggering" 28 trillion tonnes of ice has been lost from the surface since 1994. The scientists warned that global warming has led to melting glaciers and rise in sea level. “Every centimetre of sea level rise means about a million people will be displaced from their low-lying homelands,” said Professor Andy Shepherd of Leeds University.

A local environmental expert has warned that the glacier is melting due to the global warming and could fall "at any time". It is currently under observation with aerial photography and radar; also, the roads leading to the area have been closed.
