3,7 Kg Gold Seized At Kochi International Airport; Hidden Under Rectum

The Air Intelligence Unit (AIU) along with the Customs Preventive Department (CPW) has allegedly confiscated 3.75 kg of the gold compound at Kerala's Kozhikode international airport on September 5. Reportedly, all the three passengers, who flew from Dubai to India have been arrested. However, the officials revealed that the passengers had hidden gold into his rectum and socks in the form of capsules.

After Gold, Shooter Avani Lekhara Wins Bronze At Tokyo Paralympics

Indian shooter Avani Lekhara has won a bronze medal at Tokyo Paralympics in the 50m Rifle 3 Position SH1 on September 3. Following the win of bronze, 19-year-old Lekhara became the first Indian to win two Paralympic medals as she had already won Gold in the 10m air rifle standing SH1 event on August 30. However, China's Zhang Cuiping and Germany's Natascha Hiltrop won gold and silver, respectively.

India Wins Second Gold In Javelin Throw At Tokyo Paralympics

Indian Javelin thrower Sumit Antil broke the world record and won another gold for India and tops in athletics at the Tokyo Paralympics on August 30. The 23-year-old Antil, who was initially a wrestler, suffered a serious leg injury in a motorbike accident in 2015 but overcame to join Javelin. At the event, Australia's Michal Burian and Sri Lanka's Dulan Kodithuwakka bagged silver and bronze, respectively.

Avani Lekhara has won the first gold for India in the women's 10m Air Rifle Standing SH1 event at the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics on August 30. The 19-year-old Lekhara defeated China's Cuiping Zhang while Ukraine's Iryna Shchetnik grabbed a bronze medal. On her impressive win, PM Narendra Modi said, ''Congratulations on winning a hard-earned and well-deserved Gold...This is truly a special moment for Indian sports.''

Tokyo Paralympics: Bhavina Patel To Face China's Ying Zhou For Gold

India's table tennis player Bhavina Patel entered the finals at the Tokyo Paralympics and became the first Indian player to do so on August 27. Patel defeated China's Zhang Miao in the semi-final and also secured a medal for India. Mumbai Police Arrests 7 Looters, Recovers Gold Worth 24.28 Lakh

Mumbai police arrested seven accused for looting gold worth Rs 46.50 lakh from a 44-year-old man named Madhukar Kavindkar near the Gundavali bus stop in Andheri (East). The incident took place on July 19 when Kavindkar was traveling to Zaveri Bazaar from Dahisar. Reportedly, an accused snatched the gold bag, and around 9-10 accused blocked the Kavindkar's way. The police have recovered gold worth Rs 24.28 lakh so far.

Man Carrying Gold Worth Rs 40 Lakh In Rectum; Arrested In Chennai

Customs officials have taken a man into custody from Chennai airport who was illegally carrying gold of about Rs 40 lakh in his rectum. Reportedly, the man boarded from Dubai airport and was traveling with four bundles of gold paste while the extracted gold weighed 810 gm. According to the authorities, a man and woman can only carry gold worth up to Rs 1,00,000 and Rs 50,000 respectively.
