In Gujarat, the Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) of the Mumbai Police uncovered a mephedrone production facility and confiscated narcotics worth Rs 1,026 crore. The party drug, popularly known as "meow meow" or MD, resulted in one of the city's largest narcotics seizures in recent memory. According to the investigators, the accused sold the narcotic using social media platforms and phone applications.

The Gujarat Anti-Terrorist Squad on July 12 confiscated approximately 70 kilograms of heroin worth over Rs 350 crore from a container near the Mundra port in Kutch district. According to an official, the quantity and worth of the recovered contraband may increase as the search continues. The Siliguri Metropolitan Police, on April 9, caught 208 kilograms of ganja from a truck in West Bengal’s Siliguri and held the driver of the truck. ''20 nylon packets containing Ganja weighing 208 kilograms which were kept concealed in a hidden chamber inside the cabin of the truck were recovered,'' stated the police. Notably, the police arrested the driver of the truck, Dinesh Sahani, and further investigation started.

Assam Police on December 11 held a man from Assam, Wazid Hussain who worked as a security guard in a private company in Dubai. A limited-edition Hublot watch, bearing the signature and jersey number of late footballer Diego Maradona, was stolen by Wazid. However, the process of stealing the watch was not shared, while there remains a chance to send him back to Dubai to face necessary consequences.

Mangal Gaikwad, a female Constable was arrested in connection to a theft case in Maharashtra's Palghar district, said officials on September 11. Reportedly, the constable had been stealing the seized items and selling them to scrap dealers for the last six years and made an overall profit of Rs 26 lakhs. Eventually, she was caught during an audit and has been suspended till further notice.
Customs officials have taken a man into custody from Chennai airport who was illegally carrying gold of about Rs 40 lakh in his rectum. Reportedly, the man boarded from Dubai airport and was traveling with four bundles of gold paste while the extracted gold weighed 810 gm. According to the authorities, a man and woman can only carry gold worth up to Rs 1,00,000 and Rs 50,000 respectively.
