Jharkhand Govt Announces Free Vaccination For People Aged 18 Or Above

Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren, in his tweet on April 22, announced that the state will provide free COVID-19 vaccines to those aged 18 or above in the forthcoming vaccination drive. CM Soren stated, "The government is working day and night to help in this drastic transition. Corona will lose, Jharkhand will win". States like Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Assam and Kerala have already announced free vaccination.

Jharkhand CM Affirms Adivasis As Nature Worshippers, Not Hindus

Responding to a question whether Tribals are Hindus, Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren stated, "Adivasis were never Hindus and they never will be". "Adivasis are nature worshippers," he added. Moreover, he highlighted his demand for a separate column for Adivasis in the next census to safeguard culture of 32 communities. He further informed that his government will set up a university for tribals.

Jharkhand To Give Cash Rewards To Samaritans For Road Accident Victims

The Jharkhand government on January 3 approved the Good Samaritan Policy that aims to encourage individuals to help road accident victims. The policy provisions for monetary reward of Rs 2,000 to Rs 5,000 for those who carry a victim to a hospital within an hour of an accident. It also mandates that the identity of a Samaritan will not be disclosed, as well as s/he will not be burdened in the investigation process.
