IAF Aircraft Carrying 168 Passengers From Kabul Reach Delhi

A special repatriation Indian Air Force flight from Kabul carrying 107 Indians, 2 Afghan senators, and 24 Afghan Sikhs landed in Delhi on the morning of August 22. Several evacuees were staying in Afghanistan's Gurudwara for days. They all will be moved to Bangla Sahib Gurdwara. "Everything that was built in the last 20 years is now finished. It's zero now," said Afghanistan's senator Narender Singh Khalsa.

IAF Issues RFI To Buy Indian Manufactured Anti-drone System

The Indian Air Force has issued a Request For Information (RFI) to avail at least 10 drones in order to counter Unmanned Aircraft Systems. The decision comes on June 28, to beef up the security in the wake of recent drone attacks in Jammu. As per the RFI, the anti-drone system must equip Laser Directed Energy Weapon and should be developed & manufactured in India.

3 More Rafale Jets Land In India From France; Count Reaches To 14

India on March 31 received the fourth batch of Rafale fighter jets as three new aircrafts flew directly from France's Istres air base. Having Received 14 Rafales till now, India will be adding more to reach the targetted 36-jet count in coming months. Meanwhile, the Indian Air Force also thanked its UAE counterpart for refuelling the jets en route to India. The first batch of Rafale jets had landed in India in July 2020.

Bhawana Kanth: 1st Woman Fighter Pilot To Appear At IAF's R-Day Tableau

IAF’s flight lieutenant Bhawana Kanth on January 26 created history after appearing with the Indian Air Force's (IAF) tableau at the Republic Day parade. She is the first woman fighter pilot to the feat. Based at the IAF's Rajasthan airbase, Bhawna flies the MiG-21 Bison fighter plane. She is also one of the first three women fighter pilots inducted into the Air Force. The tableau was titled 'Indian Air Force: Touch the Sky with Glory'.

Late IAF Pilot's Wife Joins Air Force As Flying Officer

Garima Abrol, wife of late Squadron leader Samir Abrol, is all set to join the Indian Air Force as a flying officer. Garima passed out from the Air Force Academy on December 19. Samir, who was a squadron leader in the IAF, lost his life on February 1, 2019, when his Mirage 2000 trainer fighter aircraft crashed in Yamalur, Bengaluru. His co-test pilot, Squadron leader Siddhartha Negi, had also died in the accident.
