Opposition Demands PM Imran Khan's Resignation Over 'Bad Governance'

Pakistan's opposition, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Vice President Maryam Nawaz on December 21, demanded PM Imran Khan's resignation. She asked Khan to resign over bad governance and high inflation and slammed PTI led Government. Nawaz said due to their economic policies they faced defeat in local bodies elections and in future, no one will contest on PTI ticket. In Presence Of Imran Khan, PTI Leader Slaps Cop; Get Arrested

Amir Khan Swansi, a local Pakistan-Tehreek-e-Insaf leader from Mianwali, slapped a policeman during a rally of PM Imran Khan's party PTI here on December 13. Reportedly, the incident happened when the cop stopped Swansi for a security check. The District Police Officer (DPO) said Swanis was later arrested after a case was registered against him. However, Amir Khan reacted saying, "It was a politically motivated move.''

PM Imran Khan To Filmmakers; Only Originality Sells, Don't Copy Bollywood

Advising the Pakistani filmmakers, PM Imran Khan asked them to create original content, and not to copy other industries such as Hollywood and Bollywood. Pak PM Offers Talks With India If J&K's Special Status Is Restored

Pakistan PM Imran Khan on May 30 said he was ready to resume talks with India, if the later grants back the special status to Jammu & Kashmir. Khan said strengthening ties with India otherwise would be "similar to turning our back on the Kashmiris". Pertinently, India revoked Article 370 and downgraded J&K to UT from State on August 5, 2019. However, India has always called J&K its integral part.

Pakistan Takes U-Turn To Resume India Imports After Political Recoil

Pakistan PM Imran Khan rejected the Economic Coordination Committee's decision to trade with India on April 1. Reportedly, the ECC on March 31 decided to resume import of cotton and sugar from India after two years. While Pakistan did not cite any reason for the unilateral U-turn, the imports were notably blocked since the Centre scrapped Article 370. The imports were earlier nodded as both armies committed to a ceasefire along LAC.

Pakistan PM Imran Khan Tests COVID Positive; Took Vaccine Jab Recently

Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has tested COVID-19 positive just two days after being vaccinated. According to Pakistan's Health Minister Faisal Sultan, Imran had received a jab of the Chinese vaccine Sinovac and is currently under self-isolation at his residence. Reportedly, PM Imran got the first shot of the vaccine on March 18, urging the public to adhere to the inoculation norms amid rising COVID-19 infections in the country.

Pakistan Likely To Import Cotton From India Due To Shortfall

Recent media reports have revealed that Pakistan may allow cotton imports from India this week as a measure to restore bilateral trade. Reportedly, Pakistan is facing a shortage of cotton, which was taken to the cognisance of PM Imran Khan. Once approved, a formal order would be presented before the Economic Coordination Committee of the Cabinet. Recently, India and Pakistan had agreed to a ceasefire agreement on February 25.
