US Secretary Celebrates Holi At Rajnath's House, Expresses Happiness

US Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo, who is in India on an official visit, arrived at Defence Minister Rajnath Singh's residence on Wednesday and participated in the Holi celebration, on March 8. Expressing happiness to be a part of Holi celebration, Raimondo said, "Raimondo expressed happiness for joining people in the Holi celebration and said, "It's an honour for me to be here on such a holiday."

In a major boost to the Atmarnirbhar India, the Indian Navy successfully undertook MRSAM (Medium Range Surface to Air Missile) firing from INS Visakhapatnam. On March 7, Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh congratulated the Indian Navy, for the successful tests and validating capability to engage Anti Ship Missiles. MRSAM is jointly developed by DRDO & IAI & produced at BDL reflects Navy's commitment to Aatmanirbhar Bharat.

Rajnath Singh To Induct Light Combat Made-In-India Helicopters Into IAF

Made-in-India light combat helicopter will be inducted into the Indian Air Force (IAF) on October 3. The indigenously developed Light Combat Helicopter (LCH) which will be a major boost to the IAF. The chopper will be inducted in the presence of the Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. Notably, 15 LCH choppers will be included in the Indian Defence sector, 10 for the IAF, whereas the remaining for the Indian Army.

CDS General Anil Chauhan Meets Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh

Newly appointed Chief of Defence Staff, Lieutenant General Anil Chauhan met with union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on September 30. This came hours after General Chauhan officially took charge as the new CDS. This is also the first time a retired officer has been reappointed in this position. Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh gifted a horse to Indian defence minister Rajnath Singh, on September 6. Singh called on Khurelsukh to review and strengthen bilateral ties between the nations. Singh thanked Khurelsukh over the kind gesture, and named the horse “Tejas”. Singh then posted a photo of the horse on Twitter, and also said that the meeting went well.

'Post Of CDS Will Be Filled Soon', Says Defence Minister Rajnath Singh

Speaking at a media briefing, union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said that a new Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) will appointed soon. He further stated that the "process for it is underway". Rajnath Singh Launches New Defence Recruitment Scheme

The Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh launched a new defence recruitment model called the 'Agnipath', on June 14.  The new model kicked in after Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) and Union Cabinet approved the new proposal scheme for armed forces. Major highlight of the new scheme is that young soldiers will be released after four-years of service. The new scheme will help youths to serve the country.
