MNS Workers Arrested For Vandalising IPL Buses: Maharashtra

Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) transport wing workers, allegedly vandalised a bus used for transportation of IPL members, in Mumbai, on March 15. The police registered a case and arrested five MNS workers. As per PTI, the MNS workers were disappointed as the contract for buses in IPL were given to a Delhi based company, instead of local transportation. Therefore, the workers pelted stones and damaged the bus.

New IPL Franchise Team Named As Gujarat Titans; Hardik Pandya Named Captain

The recently added Ahmedabad Franchise of the IPL will be called as "Gujarat Titans". Announced on February 9, the new team is all set to debut in the 15th IPL event, soon to be held. The new team also announced the largest stadium in Gujarat to be their practice venue. Siddharth Patel of Gujarat Titans said, " We want this group to achieve great things for Gujarat".

Tata Groups To Replace Vivo As IPL Title Sponsor With Rs 670 Crore

Tata Groups replaced Vivo as title sponsors for the Indian Premier League (IPL).  Announced on January 11, Tata will pay Rs 670 crores to IPL for the next two years, whereas Vivo will pay Rs. 454 crore for termination of the contract.  In this situation, the BCCI will have a whooping amount of Rs 1,124 crore for 2022 & 2023, for IPL teams. IPL Chairman Brijesh Patel confirmed the news.

South African All-Rounder Chris Morris Announces Retirement From Cricket

South African all-rounder Chris Morris announced his retirement from all forms of the cricket, stated that he had taken up a coaching role. Morris played 69 international games across all formats, who last represented South-Africa in the ODI World Cup in England in July 2019. Notably, Morris became the costliest player at the IPL auction after being bought at INR 16.25 crores by Rajasthan Royals in the 2021 auction.

IPL 2022: Kohli, Sharma, MSD Retained; Chahal, Thakur Released

The list of retained players for the Indian Premiere League 2022 was released on November 30. Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni and Rohit Sharma among many others are to be retained by their respective franchises. However, key players like Ben Stokes, Yuzvendra Chahal, Shardul Thakur were released. Moreover, CSK, MI, KKR and DC retained four players. RR, RCB, SRH retained three, while Punjab Kings retained only two.

MK Stalin Wishes To See MS Dhoni Play More For CSK: IPL

Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin stated that he wishes to see MS Dhoni play for IPL franchise Chennai Super Kings (CSK) for seasons to come. CM Stalin further said that his father Karunanidhi was also his fan. He also congratulated Dhoni and his team on winning the tournament this year. Deepika & Ranveer To Bid To Own A New IPL 2022 Team

Bollywood couple Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh will reportedly bid to acquire the right of a new franchise in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL). Reportedly, the BCCI has planned to increase the teams to 10 from eight. However, the Adani Group and the RP-Sanjeev Goneka Groups are also in the race. First Retention Card To Be Used For CSK's MS Dhoni, Says Officials

The first retention card will be used for Chennai Super Kings skipper, MS Dhoni at the mega auction of IPL 2022.
