Amid the buzz of retirement, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni on October 5 confirmed that he is not going to retire after the ongoing IPL. However, Dhoni said he would like to play his last match in Chennai. ''Hopefully, We'll come to Chennai and play my last game over there,'' Dhoni said. Notably, Dhoni already announced his retirement from international cricket on August 15, 2020.   

The Delhi Police on September 22 busted an IPL gambling racket with five men having been arrested. The police seized two Laptops, 13 mobile phones, a television set and cash amounting to Rs 52,000 from a flat at Molarband Extension, Badarpur, where the gang was caught. The accused identified themselves as Akash, Ahsan, Sunit, Mukesh and Mohammad Shahjad.

In an official announcement from IPL franchise RCB has appointed Prathmesh Mishra as the chairman on June 30 after Anand Kripalu. However, Mishra is also the current Chief Commercial Officer at Diageo India in an addition to his responsibility. Although, he joined Diageo in 2014 as the COO for the western region. Besides, he also took the national responsibility of CSD (Canteen Stores Department) business.

After the BCCI’s request, Cricket West Indies have rescheduled the 'Caribbean Premier League' from Aug 28 to Aug 26, till Sept 15 to avoid clash with IPL. However, the change in schedule will provide an opportunity to Indian Players who were also a part of the CPI. Besides, it's a success for BCCI as several Caribbean players were an integral part of IPL franchises and provide X-factor to the tournament.

The BCCI is in talks with Cricket West Indies to prepone the Caribbean Premier League by a week or 10 days to avoid the clash with the second phase of the IPL. The board cited a seamless bubble-to-bubble transfer of players as the reason. Scheduled to commence from August 28, the CPL final will be played on September 19. Whereas, IPL is likely to start from September 18 in UAE.
