The BJP has attacked Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on social media over his visit to Italy's Milan. Actor-turned-politician Khushbu Sundar took a jibe at Rahul Gandhi and questioned his "short holiday" amid the ongoing farmers' protest. Also, his visit to Italy came a day before the Congress party's 136th Foundation Day on December 28. However, the Congress general secretary KC Venugopal said that Rahul has gone to see his grandmother.

To spare the passengers from 14-day quarantine, Italy is planning to start "Covid tested" flights from US’ New York, Newark and Atlanta. Starting in December, passengers will be set free if tested negative for the COVID-19 within 48 hours of departure and arrival in Rome, stated operators of Leonardo da Vinci airport. Currently, Italy has banned tourists and allows only EU citizens and their relatives, students and medical tourists. 

The bilateral ties between India and Italy are set to be reviewed on November 6 as PM Modi and Italian PM Giuseppe Conte are scheduled to meet virtually. According to the External Affairs ministry, the two leaders will discuss the “major regional and global issues of mutual concern.” The statement further added that India considers Italy as an important member of the European Union (EU) and values its effort in promoting India-EU ties.

In an exceptional instance, Nortosce town of Italy has just two residents and still they are following strict COVID-19 protocols. Giovanni Carilli (82) and Giampiero Nobili (74), making up the town’s population with no neighbours, not only wear masks, but also they hardly leave the town. While Carilli, afraid of the COVID-19 virus, said there is nobody to look after him if he gets sick, Nobilli advocated to follow the rules.
