Pakistan Floods: 19 People Die In Last 24 Hours, Death Toll Nearing 1,200

As many as 19 persons died in the last 24 hours in Pakistan to the ongoing flood condition, on September 2. With this, the death toll has gone up to 1,186, since June 14. In the last 24 hours, 12 died in Sindh, four in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and three in Balochistan. Notably, the deceased include nine children. Also, the floods have hit over 80 districts wrecking havoc.

Suicide Bomber Kills 4 Army Officials In Pakistan

In Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, four army soldiers died in a suicide blast at a military convoy in the Mir Ali area, on August 9. According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), intelligence agencies are on a lookout to identify the suicide bomber, his handlers and facilitators. Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif expressed his grief over the incident, and assured to eliminate terrorism from the country.

Pakistan Floods: Death Toll In Balochistan Rises To 130

The rains in Pakistan have worsened and the death toll due to rain and flood-related deaths in the Balochistan province has reached 130. Reportedly, the flood situation is bad in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces. On the contrary, situation in Balochistan's Lasbela district has slightly improved, after the traffic was restored on the Quetta-Karachi highway on July 31, after almost a week.

Pakistani Minister Shibli Faraz Attacked In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Pakistani Minister for Science and Technology Shibli Faraz on December 19 escaped in a gun attack on his vehicle in the country's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. Reportedly, the Minister was on his way to Kohat district when he faced the attack. However, his driver got injured, informed Chaudhary Fawad Hussain, Minister for Information and Chaudhary. The driver was shifted to hospital and his condition was stable, tweeted Shibli.

8 Dead, 15 Wounded In Shootout At Funeral In Pakistan

In a shocking incident, eight people succumbed to their injuries and 15 got injured in a shootout at a funeral ceremony in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, said media reports on late September 16. Following the shootout, all injured persons were rushed to hospital where 10 were reported in critical condition. Reportedly, the shootout between two groups of people at the ceremony occurred over a land dispute.
