The decision to not send Rohit to South Africa was taken keeping that frequent injury, and other events in mind, including the World cup events in the coming two years, Chetan Sharma, Chairman of selectors said. Moreover, Jasprit Bumrah will be Vice Captain.

England Beats India By Six Wickets In 2nd ODI, Levels Series 1-1

KL Rahul Sustains Wrist Injury; Ruled Out Of India-Australia Series
The BCCI on January 5 ruled out KL Rahul from the remaining two test matches against Australia after the batsman sustained wrist injury. Reportedly, Rahul injured his left wrist on January 2 during the net practice session at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Subsequently, he has returned to India and will be at the National Cricket Academy, Bangalore for further treatment. Rahul had not played any match in the ongoing test series.
