Union Govt Approves Rs 26,000 Crore For 25,000 Mobile Towers Installation
The Telecom Minister of India Ashwini Vaishnaw announced that PM Modi-led Central Government approved Rs 26,000 crores for the installation of 25,000 mobile towers in 500 days. Meghalaya's 1,164 Remote Villages To Soon Have Mobile Networks: Govt
In Meghalaya, the government aims to set up over 350 mobile towers, which will provide a mobile network to all villages of the state. As per officials on April 10, the Meghalaya CS reviewed the implementation of the USOF scheme ensuring mobile internet services to 1,164 remote villages (of 6,839) without internet/mobile networks. The government is investing Rs 726.65 crore for the project in collaboration with BSNL mobile towers
