CAIT Vows Centre To Restore MSME Tag For 8 Cr Traders
Following the withdrawal of MSME status from nearly eight crore wholesale traders and retailers, the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) has urged the Centre to restore the tag. Reportedly, Rs 3 lakh crore disbursed by banking institutions under Priority Sector Lending (PSL) scheme will stand out to lose the tag. Moreover, banks might fail to meet the PSL target, which requires them to lend at 40% of total loans.

Minister Gadkari Launches Eco-Friendly 'Vedic Paint' To Help Farmers
Aiming for the welfare of farmers and for boosting the rural economy, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has introduced cow-dung made 'Vedic paint' on December 17. Gadkari stated that the paint would be manufactured through the Khadi and Village Industries Commission. Besides, it would add Rs 55,000 to the income of farmers annually. Assam to Extend Support to Mobile Theatres; Plans to Include Them Under MSME
Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal on September 18 reviewed requests from the Mobile Theatre Producers' Association and directed officials to form a committee to address the needs of the industry. In a meeting, the representatives from the industry requested the CM for help against the pandemic-caused distress. The CM also asked the officials to decipher if the industry can be included under Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) category.
