PM Modi Releases Rs 16,000 Crores To Farmers Under PM Kisan Yojana

PM Narendra Modi, on February 27, released money for eight crore farmers under the PM Kisan Yojana. The PM Modi led Central Government sanctioned Rs 16,000 crores, under the yojana, providing benefits to farmers, across India. The money will be deposited to bank accounts under the scheme, eligible farmer families are provided ₹ 6,000/ year in three equal instalments of Rs 2,000 each.direct benefit transfer (DBT).

Karnataka Farmers Decided To Die, Seeks PDO's Permission

A Karnataka farmer Manjunath Kambar wrote to the Panchayat Development Officer (PDO) seeking suicide permission, which has been acknowledged and approved. Farmers committing suicide due to debt is not new, but asking for permission is bizzare. In Karnataka's Mangaluru village of Koppala district Kambar built a pond for his farm issues and demanded funds under the MGNREGA scheme. However, the PDO Veeresh G asked Rs 15,000 bribe.

Telangana Announces Rs 3 lakh For Relatives Of Farmers Killed In Protest

Telangana Chief Minister Chandrashekhar Rao announced an ex-gratia of Rs 3 lakh for the families of the martyred farmers on behalf of the Telangana government, on November 20. According to reports, the CM further demanded PM Modi to provide each family with Rs 25 lakhs in compensation. Moreover, he also requested the center to withdraw the cases filed against the farmers during the farmers’ protest at the Singhu border.

Punjab Announces Rs 2 Lakh Compensation To People Arrested On R-day Rally

Punjab CM Charanjit Singh Channi announced Rs 2 lakh as compensation to 83 people arrested by the Delhi police for protesting and carrying out a tractor rally on the Republic Day of India. Reportedly, farmers protesting over farm laws broke barricades on January 6 and clashed with the Delhi police in the national capital. Farmers Demand Rs 7K Per Acre To Stop Stubble Burning: Punjab

Famers in Punjab demanded 7,000 rupees compensation per acre to stop stubble burning. Reportedly, farmers are burning their stubble in their fields due to the non-availability of better options. Farmers Have Right To Protest But Can’t Block Roads Indefinitely: SC

The Supreme Court on October 21 said farmers protesting at Delhi borders against the three farm laws have the right to agitate but they cannot block the roads indefinitely. The decision comes after a resident from Noida complained of delays in daily commuting. However, the top court has asked the farmer union to respond in this case within three weeks and posted the matter for December.

Akhilesh Yadav Visits Family Of Victim In Lakhimpur Kheri Violence: UP

Akhilesh Yadav, former CM of Uttar Pradesh paid a visit to the family of a farmer (Daljit Singh) who was killed in the Lakhimpur Kheri violence. Yadav demanded the resignation of Minister of State for Home Affairs, Ajay Mishra Teni. "Untill the resignation is done, justice will not be given to these victims' families," he stated.
