Foreign Minister S Jaishankar Boycotts China-led Security Council Meet
Owing to the tensions between India and China, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar remained absent at the Security Council meeting convened by China on May 7. The virtual meeting focused on multilateralism and maintenance of international peace was instead attended by Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla. Reportedly, China will convene two more meetings on Africa and COVID-19 recovery along with improving safety of peacekeepers.
