Odisha government on November 11 has opened the bookings for the state Tourism’s flagship festival, Eco Retreat. The three-month festival, expected to be held from December 8 to February 28, 2021, will be organized in view of the last year's success. Odisha-based artist Manas Kumar, made a sand sculpture of famous tourist spots to celebrate the 'World Tourism Day'. Reportedly, the sculpture which came up on the Marine Drive Beach in Puri took about five hours for completion and was themed 'Travel and Revel'. Previously, Manas had also made sculptures promoting the use of masks and sanitizers. With such sculptures, he wishes to promote tourism and spread awareness.

Chief Minister of Odisha on August 31 announced that flood victims in the state will get 50 kg of rice and Rs 500 as a relief measure. Besides, those who have been living in shelters will be provided cooked/dry foods under immediate assistance. The CM also announced that house damage assistance, as per the SDRF rules, will also be given to the victims.
