Kolkata Celebrates Durga Pooja With Gold; Idol Wears Gold Saree

Durga Puja festival begins from October 7 and every year Kolkata is known for its decorations of the pandals and the Durga idol. This year, two idols of Durga have been installed by Bandhu Mahal Club in Baguiati, out of which, one has golden eyes and the other wears an embroided saree. Moreover, the saree has 6 grams of gold and the eyes are made of 10-11 grams of gold.

Rath Yatra To Begin Ahead Of Durga Puja; COVID Protocols Mandatory

Owing to the COVID-19 protocols, the 9-day Rath Yatra at Biraja Temple started on October 6 in Jaipur. The District Magistrate Chakravarti Singh Rathore stated that due to the pandemic we are trying to balance people's life as people can visit to temple between 5 AM to 1 PM. Further, Rama Chandra Pani, a local priest said, "we are not allowed to participate but darshan is allowed."

Jharkhand: Couples Congregate Outside Old Temple, Pray for Girl Child

Dozens of Couples queued for hours outside a 170-year-old temple in Jharkhand, praying to be blessed with a daughter. Every year people from distant places come to this remote temple to offer prayers to a 150-year-old pot and to Siddhidatri Durga, who is believed to bless the couples with a girl child.
