Huge Cache Of Arms & Ammunition Seized From Naxals In Bihar

A huge amount of arms and ammunition has been seized by Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), on July 13. Reportedly, the arms and ammunition belonged to the Naxals, and the seizure was carried out in Bihar's Gaya. The seized items include one AK rifle, 250 ammo, 65 pressure Improvised Explosive Device (IED), 446 Series IED, 101 Can IED and 495 Detonators.

Naxal Affected Bastar Now Changing, Says Chhattisgarh CM Baghel; Development Projects Underway

Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel said that Bastar, a district affected by naxals, is now changing for the better, owing to various development projects in the region. Speaking of the development projects, he said that construction of new bridges, roads and culverts and underway. Also, schools that were shut for 15 years have now reopened. He further stated that people are benefiting from various state government schemes.

Security Forces Kill Naxal In Encounter At Sukma Chhattisgarh

Security forces killed a Naxal in an encounter in Sukma Chhattisgarh on January 30, Sources said. They said that encounter started at 6.45 am, in Thimmapuram village, when a joint team of forces was out on patrolling. A police officer said that armed ultras opened fire on the forces, leading the encounter, following which the body of a male Naxal, clad in 'uniform' & arms were recovered from the spot.

Top Naxal Leader, Wife Arrested In Jharkhand

The Top CPI Maoist leader Prashant Bose alias ''Kishan da'' and his wife Sheela Marandi were arrested by Jharkhand police from the Kolhan region on November 14. Bose was carrying a reward of Rs 1 crore on his arrest. ''He was one of the topmost Naxal leaders in Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Chhattisgarh. Calling It Attempt To 'Thwart' Probe, NIA Denies Elgar Accused Plea

NIA has told the Bombay HC that the plea filed by two Elgar accused challenging the transfer of the probe is an attempt to "thwart" the investigation. In an affidavit, the agency stated that the "Naxal Plague has destroyed at many levels". It further said, the Centre suo motu directed the NIA to handle the case, given the gravity of the scheduled offense that reflects “national security”.

Chhattisgarh Security Forces Kill Maoist Having Rs 5 Lakh Bounty On Him

The Chhattisgarh Police's District Reserve Guard wing on April 20 killed a Naxal in an encounter in Dantewada. A 9-mm pistol, three kg IED, backpacks and a muzzle-loading gun have also been recovered from the encounter site. Identified as Kosa, the Maoist "military intelligence in charge" had a Rs 5 lakh bounty on him. Reportedly, he was the mastermind behind at least 15 Naxal attacks.

Chhattisgarh's Bijapur Encounter: Naxals Release Abducted CoBRA Jawan

Maoists in Chhattisgarh on April 8 released the CRPF CoBRA jawan, Rakeshwar Singh Manhas, who was kidnapped by the Naxals on April 3. The jawan was missing since the deadly clash between the Naxals and security personnel at the Sukma-Bijapur border in the state. Family members of the soldier expressed happiness and thanked the government for ensuring his safe release. Earlier, relatives of Rakeshwar had staged a protest as well.

5 Jawans Killed, 20 Injured In Encounter In Chhattisgarh's Bijapur

In an anti-Naxal operation on April 3, five security personnel were killed while 20 got injured in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur. In the retaliatory fire, the security forces killed three Naxals including a woman. Reportedly, the Naxals opened fire on a joint party, comprising 400 personnel of the STF, DRG, CRPF and COBRA, in Silger forest of Tarem. Following the encounter, nine ambulances and two Mi-17 helicopters were sent for help.
