Government Tightens FCRA Rules For Foreign Funding Of NGOs

The Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act’s new rules have mandated a minimum three years of operation for any NGO to procure foreign funds. NGOs must have spent at least 15 lakh on its core activities in those three years. Delhi: Ghitorni Mayor Inaugurates Dog Crematorium

South Delhi's Ghitorni Mayor Anamika Mithilesh Singh on October 7 inaugurated a crematorium dedicated for dogs. The initiative was taken by an NGO to help the dog owners perform last-rites of their pets. The Mayor told that the initiative will help keeping the city's environment cleaner. She also launched a dog rescue ambulance that will take injured dogs from the roads for free treatment.

SEEDS Joins Hands With Honeywell To Provide 10 Million Meals To Needy

Delhi-based NGO, Sustainable Environment and Ecological Development Society (SEEDS), has collaborated with Honeywell to provide 10.7 million meals to people, across nine cities, who were hit by the COVID-19 lockdown. The NGO said that in the first phase of the drive, they supplied 3.7 million meals in five cities. However, it stated that the number of the needy has come down as the country has begun moving towards resumption.
