The World Health Organisation (WHO) warned of rising Covid-19 cases in 110 nations, on June 30. The officials at WHO said, "This pandemic is changing but it's not over. Our ability to track the #COVID19 virus is under threat as reporting and genomic sequences are declining meaning it is becoming harder to track Omicron and analyse future emerging variants." Union Ministry Writes To States, UTs Amid Covid-19 Rise
Amid the rising number of Covid-19 cases, the Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan has written to all States and Union Territories, on June 9. As per the source, the Union Health Ministry urged all states/UTs to work for the progress of controlling the pandemic, and bring back restrictions to prevent Covid-19 spread. Wear Face Masks, Says Maharashtra Govt Amid Covid-19 Case Rise
Amid the rising number of Covid-19, Maharashtra Government, on June 7, urged people to follow Covid-19 protocols and wear masks in public places. Notably, in 24 hours, the State registered 1,881 fresh, taking the number of active cases to 8,432. Furthermore, 878 patients were discharged in the day, taking the recovery rate in the state to 98.03%. The case fatality rate in the state is 1.87%, confirmed the health ministry.

Beijing Imposes New Curbs On Conferences Amid Covid-19 Outbreak
Beijing imposed new restrictions to deal with the deadly Covid-19 outbreak in the city. On May 31, the Chinese authorities announced new curbs on events and conferences in the Capital City of China. In a media briefing Pang Xinghuo, Vice-Director at the Beijing Center for Disease Prevention and Control said, "Conferences and events should be held via video whenever possible, and the size of offline events should be minimised".

Monkeypox: Over 237 Cases Confirmed Across 19 Countries
The Monkeypox virus has spread to at least 19 countries, and over 237 cases have been confirmed, as of May 27. According to WHO, the virus can be 'contained' in non-African countries. However, the cases are reportedly expected to increase in the coming days. According to scientists, the Monkeypox is not expected to spread and cause a pandemic, given that the virus does not spread like COVID-19.

For the third week in a row, Marvel's Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness was the highest-grossing film of the weekend, with $31.6 million in 4,534 North American cinemas. Wear Face Masks While Traveling, Says Union Railway Ministry
Amid the concerns of COVID-19 rise in India, the Indian Railway Ministry advised commuters to wear masks while traveling in trains. On May 11, the Union Railways issued an official notice which read, "all passengers should be wearing face masks at the entry, exits and while traveling in the travel". The notice also asked people to follow all the guidelines of Novel Coronavirus and being cautious.
