Railways Contributes Most Among PSUs To PM-CARES From Staff Salaries
RTI records have revealed that PM-CARES fund received Rs 157.23 crore from the staff salaries of 50 Union Government's departments. Railways emerged as the top contributor with Rs 146.72 crore, followed by Space Ministry (Rs 5.18 crore) and Environment Ministry (Rs 1.14 crore). About Rs 205 Crore Contributed to PM Cares By Staff of Public Institutions
PM Cares Fund received Rs 204.75 crore through salary contributions by the staff of institutions including seven public sector banks and RBI, according to reports. Through RTI, it was revealed that apart from the contribution by the employees, there were donations made from other funds like Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) as well. The contributions included Rs 113.63 crore by LIC, Rs 107.95 crore by SBI, and Rs 7.34 crore by RBI.

PM Modi Donates Over Rs 2 Lakh from Personal Savings in PM Cares Fund
PM Modi is said to have donated Rs 2.25 lakh from his personal savings towards the initial corpus of the PM Cares Fund. The information surfaced after the Fund's audit report was made public. With this, PM Modi's contributions to various social welfare programs now exceed over Rs 103 crore, which was arranged collectively from PM Modi's personal savings and amounts raised from auctioning his mementos and gifts.

P Chidambaram Slams Government For Not Revealing the Names of Donors to PM Cares Fund
Former FM P Chidambaram, on twitter questioned the Government regarding the PM Cares fund. The statement came after the Economic Times report that the fund had received over 3,076 crores between March 26 and 31. "The names of the generous donors will not be revealed. Why? Every other NGO or Trust is obliged to reveal the names. Why is the PM CARES FUND exempt from this obligation?" he questioned.
