Alaskan Polar Bears Migrate To Russia Due To Climate Change

Global warming is one of the most important factors which affects animal population and habitats. Similarly, in Alaska, since temperatures have risen, polar bears have been forced to move to Russia's Wrangel Island. About 40 percent of the polar bear population in Alaska has dropped between 2001 to 2010. Annual Alaska's temperature has risen to 4.8° Celsius in the last 50 years.

Depletion Of Artic Hunt Areas Forces Polar Bears To Eat Seabirds' Eggs

A study published in the Royal Society Open Science journal has revealed that polar bears are forced to eat seabirds' eggs instead of seals, their usual prey. Climate Change Force Polar Bears To Spend 4-Times Energy For Prey

Owing to climate change-induced glacier melting in the Arctic, the polar bears and narwhals now require four times as much energy to hunt for survival. A study published in the Journal of Experimental Biology discovered that sea-ice loss is forcing the cold-climate mammals to conserve themselves rigorously as killer whales have infiltrated the previously ice-locked ocean stretches. Reportedly, the diet alterations have forced the ‘sit-and-… read-more
