Trump Govt Orders Oil Drilling Lease In Fauna Rich Alaskan Ice
In an unfriendly environmental move, the Trump administration has declared oil exploration lease on 5% area of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. Stretched over 78,000 square kilometres, the ANWR is US’ last great solitude having a rich fauna species including bears, caribou and wolves. Reportedly, the winters are reproductive season for bears that make dens on thick ice sheets of Alaskan ANWR. Meanwhile, the hurried decision was criticized by the opposition.
