Women's Panel Issues Notice To SBI Over 'Unfit Pregnant Women' Guidelines: Delhi

The DCW has issued a notice to the SBI for stopping a three-month pregnant woman from joining work. Swati Maliwal, the chairperson of the commission, termed the rule as 'discriminatory and illegal'. The panel asked SBI to explain the process of formation of guidelines and, provide names of officials who approved them. The decision is contrary to maternity benefits provided under the Code of Social Security, 2020, stated the commission.

Viral Video; RPF Constable Saves Pregnant Woman From Moving Train

SR Khandekar, a Railway Protection Force (RPF) constable is receiving a lot of appreciation from people on social media for saving the life of a pregnant woman from a moving train at the Kalyan Railway Staton near Mumbai on October 18. Reportedly, Khandekar jumped to save the woman as she fell into the gap between the Platform and the train.

Kyrgyz Woman With Her Toddler Child Found Dead In Delhi  

Delhi police on September 21 said they've registered a case following a 5-month-old pregnant Kyrgyz woman named Myskal Zhumabaeva and her toddler child were found dead at her friend's residence. Reportedly, Zhumabaeva had a fight with her husband named Vinay Chuhan and that she went to her friend's house as she wasn't feeling well. Police have also found stabbing wounds and are investigating the case to arrest the culprit.

Pregnant Women Must Take COVID-19 Vaccines: NITI Aayog

During a press briefing, NITI Aayog's Member Dr. V.K Paul on September 2 said that every pregnant woman should receive both the doses of COVID-19 vaccine to avoid the adverse effects of infection. Given the upcoming festive season, Paul said, ''Celebrate festivals at home and avoid going outside. Mask is must for all even after both doses.''  Reportedly, 54% of adults have received the first dose of the vaccine.

Woman Delivers Baby Inside Train, Thanks Indian Railways

Under the supervision of the 'Meri Saheli' team, established by the Indian Railways to assist women passengers, a 27-year-old woman named Ayesha Khatun has delivered a baby boy inside the train on July 10. Khatun started enduring severe liver pain inside the coach while traveling to Bengaluru. She delivered a healthy baby boy at Bhubaneswar railway station with medical assistance from the 'Meri Saheli' group and the health team.

Punjab: Police Arrest Pregnant Woman For Murder Of 3-Year-Old Stepson

Abhijot Singh, a three-year-old boy was murdered by his pregnant step-mother at Lande village in Punjab, on June 17. Police have registered an FIR against the women, Amarjit Kuar under section 302 (Murder) of IPC. Reportedly, the women used to dislike the boy and beat him on a daily basis. During the interrogation, Amarjit confessed that she slapped him many times and then he ''banged into a wall''.

J&K: Army Troops Carry Pregnant Woman For 5 Km On Stretcher

The Indian Army troops carried a pregnant woman in Jammu and Kashmir’s Sumwali village for five kilometres on a stretcher amidst heavy snowfall to render her medical assistance. The woman was then shifted to an Army Gypsy and rushed to a Primary Health Centre late on March 22. Reportedly, after receiving a distress call, the army had reached to help the pregnant in a critical condition. The family later thanked the army for their help.
