Kerala Court Grants Bail To Accused In Sexual Harassment Case Citing ‘Provocative Dress’

Kerala court has granted bail to an accused in a sexual harassment case on the grounds that the victim was wearing “provocative dress”. Writer Civic Chandran (74) has been granted anticipatory bail by a sessions court in Kerala’s Kozhikode in a sexual harassment case. The court contended that the charges against the accused will prima facie not stand if the complainant was wearing a provocative dress.

UP Sessions Court To Hear Zubair's Bail Plea In Fact-Check Case

Bail hearing for Alt News co-founder Mohammed Zubair is set for July 16 at sessions court in Uttar Pradesh. Harjeet Singh, Zubair's lawyer, informed the court that the plaintiff had raised an objection to the bail application made in English, causing the bail hearing to be postponed. A Lakhimpur Kheri court summoned him in September 2021 in a case made by a news channel journalist for a fact-check tweet.

BJP Leader Manoj Kamboj Granted Interim Protection From Arrest In Bank Fraud Case: Mumbai

BJP leader Manoj Kamboj has been granted interim protection from arrest by Mumbai Sessions Court in a bank fraud case, on June 2. The court directed Kamboj to not leave the city without the court's permission, and to appear before the police whenever required for the probe. A complaint was earlier filed by the manager of Indian Overseas Bank, alleging that Kamboj borrowed Rs 52 crore for unintended purposes.

No Interim Relief For Hanuman Chalisa Row MLA Couple

The Mumbai sessions court did not grant any interim relief to the "Hanuman Chalisa" couple. Furthermore, the couple has been sent to judicial custody till the next court hearing, which is slated for 29th April. The couple's advocate Rizwan Merchant, shared, "We will ask the police why the sedition charge was added," before adding, "Also, a withdrawal of plea is under process at the Bombay High Court."
