Russian Warship 'Moskva' Sinks In Black Sea
Moskva, a Russian warship, sank in the black sea while being towed, reported Russian Defense Ministry on April 14. Reportedly, the warship was being towed amid wild storms after the damage it suffered due to fire caused by detonation of ammunition. The Ministry then stated that while on the way back to a designated port, due to a hull damage Moskva sustained, the ship sank.

Indian Coast Guard Ship 'Saksham' Dedicated To Nation
Defence secretary Ajay Kumar commissioned Indian coast guard ship 'Saksham' on March 16 in Goa. The ship comes fifth in the series of 105 M-class offshore patrol vessel. This vessel is named Saksham as part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's indigenous project in November 2016. The Indian Coast Guard tweeted about the ceremony which was conducted in the presence of Director General VS Pathania.

Panamanian Registered Ship Splits Into Two Parts On Northern Japan Harbour
The “Crimson Polaris”, a 39,910-tonne vessel while wrecked, splits into two, leaking oil on northern Japan’s Hachinohe harbour. The incident occurred on August 12. However, 21 of its crew happened to be safe with no injuries reported. The Panamanian-registered ship was at the end of its journey, was returning from Thailand. Patrol boats had taken containment measures.

SC Rejects Plea Seeking Stay On Dismantling Decommissioned 'INS Viraat'
A plea seeking stay on dismantling India's decommissioned Navy aircraft carrier 'INS Viraat' was rejected by the Supreme Court. The bench headed by the Chief Justice S.A. Bobde chose not intervene as 40% of the iconic ship has already been dismantled. Filed by M/S Envitech Marine Consultants Private Limited, the plea sought to convert the 65-year-old aircraft carrier into a museum. The ship was inducted into Indian Navy in 1987.
