India's Avani Lekhara Wins Gold In Women's 10m Shooting In Tokyo
Avani Lekhara has won the first gold for India in the women's 10m Air Rifle Standing SH1 event at the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics on August 30. The 19-year-old Lekhara defeated China's Cuiping Zhang while Ukraine's Iryna Shchetnik grabbed a bronze medal. On her impressive win, PM Narendra Modi said, ''Congratulations on winning a hard-earned and well-deserved Gold...This is truly a special moment for Indian sports.''

Indian Women's Trio Bags Bronze In 10m Pistol Shooting World Cup
Indian Women's Trio team Manu Bhaker, Yashaswini Singh Deswal and Rahi Sarnobat wins bronze medal in the 10m air pistol women's event at the ISSF shooting World cup on June 25. The team wins third position with a score of 573 after defeating the Hungarian team. Meanwhile, the men's trio team lost in the 10m air rifle match and the women's team failed to enter qualifying round.

11 Killed In Gun Firing At A Russian School By Teenage Gunmen
Nearly 11 people were killed in Russian city of Kazan after two teenage gunmen opened fire in a school leaving many others injured. In a viral video, few children were seen jumping off the window from the third floor of the school. According to a Russian news agency, a 19-year-old gunman was detained by the cops while the motive of fire still remains unknown.

Defeating Hungary's Istvan Peni on March 24, Bhopal-based Indian shooter Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar won the gold medal in the 50-metre rifle at the ISSF World Cup. The young shooter exhibited an amazing comeback in the elimination stage with 10.4, 10.5, and 10.3 as his standings dropped after an impressive lead in the start. ISSF World Cup: Shooter Yashaswini, Bhaker Clinch Gold, Silver Medals
Indian shooter Yashaswini Singh Deswal and Manu Bhaker bagged gold and silver medals respectively on March 20 in the women's 10m air pistol category at the ISSF World Cup. Shooting with a scoreline of 238.8, Deswal stood out from the crowd while Bhaker shot 236.7 to comfortably clinch silver. Meanwhile, Shri Nivetha started well-settled fourth with a score of 193.5. Reportedly, India has won three medals in the tournament.
