Renowned Kannada singer Shivamogga Subbanna passed suddenly on August 11 night after suffering a heart attack at a local hospital in Karnataka. The 83-year-old, who performed the song "Kaadu Kudure Odi Banditta" in the movie "Kaadu Kudure," became the first Kannadiga to receive a National Award for playback singing. He was well-known for his work in "Sugama Sangeetha," a form in which Kannada poetry is put to music. 

Jennifer Lopez used gender-neutral pronouns to introduce her child Emme at a public engagement. Lopez performed at the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation Blue Diamond Gala with Emme, one of the twins. She introduced the teen using "them/they" pronouns before singing a version of Christina Perri's "A Thousand Years." Emme also sang the opener to her own song "Let's Get Loud." Many admirers appreciated that JLo supports Emme's pronoun choice.

As per new developments in the Sidhu Moose Wala murder case, the sitting judge of the Punjab & Haryana HC turned down the probe request, on June 5. Notably, the Punjab government request a probe in the Sidhu Moose Wala murder by a sitting HC judge. The court administration sent a communication, mentioning, they can't spare a judge due to a shortage of 38-judges with over 4 lakh pending cases.

Haryanvi singer Sangeeta's mutilated body was recovered near Bhaini Bhairon village after 12 days. Her family filed an abduction report after she was last seen on May 11. The police arrested two people from Meham, Haryana, after they confessed to the murder. They had contacted her under the guise of producing a music video. Delhi Police has detained accused Anil, who's on a 5-day remand.  

Indian-American artist Falguni Shah has won the Best Children's Music Album Grammy this year for "A Colourful World". “I have no words to describe today’s magic. What an honor to perform for the opening number of the GRAMMY Premiere Ceremony,'' wrote Falguni on her Instagram Handle. Notably, Shah is the only Indian-origin woman to be nominated in the Best Children’s Music Album category at the Grammys two times.
