Amid Fall Of Afghanistan, India Offers Refuge To Its Nationals

India is planning to provide refuge to the Afghan nationals who have worked closely with India as the country falls under Taliban rule. Several long-term visas will be provided to the unprotected group of people including journalists, writers, activists, minorities, etc disregarding their religion. Meanwhile, New Delhi is also monitoring the ongoing situation as the Taliban makes territorial gains in the region.

Taliban Warns India Against Military Presence In Afghanistan

While acknowledging India's endeavor in development activities in Afghanistan, the Taliban has warned India against taking up any military roles in Afghanistan to tackle the Taliban saying "it will not be good for them". India has helped Afghanistan in various development projects such as the construction of the Salma Dam, roads, and schools. Reportedly, no harm will be to the Indian diplomats, Hindus, and Sikhs living in Afghanistan.

Indian Engineers Rescued From Afghanistan As Violence Spikes

The Indian Embassy in Kabul informed that three Indian engineers who were working at a project site that does not fall under the Afghan government's jurisdiction have been evacuated on August 12. India has advised all of its citizens living in Afghanistan to follow the measures and evacuate the nation as the Taliban siege. Meanwhile, Indian journalists have been advised to take security measures covering Afghanistan developments.

Taliban Captures 3 More Afghan Provincial Capitals In 1 Week

Taliban after gaining control over Northern Afghanistan Kunduz province on August 8, has captured over five provinces in recent months. "After some fierce fighting, the mujahideen, with the grace of God, captured the capital of Kunduz, Sar-e-Pul city, the government buildings, and all the installations there," the Taliban said in a statement. Meanwhile, the Afghan defense ministry said that the forces are fighting to take back key areas.

NIA Conducts Raids Across J&K Over Terror Funding Case

At least eight districts of Jammu and Kashmir were raided by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on August 8 in connection with the terror funding case. The raids even included former militants who are now the residents of J&K. Besides, a Delhi court charged four alleged Hizb-ul-Mujahideen terrorists having strong attestation of Pakistani funding to organize terrorist activities in Jammu and Kashmir.

Terror Attacks In Kabul Leaves At Least 20 Wounded, 8 Dead

Terror attacks near government buildings and foreign embassies targeting the Acting Defense Minister shook Afghanistan's capital Kabul on August 3. Reportedly, the first attack took place at 8 pm local time (15:30 GMT) followed by another attack, including rapid gunfire at about 10 pm. At least 20 people were injured and eight dead. "The casualty toll could rise", said Interior Ministry spokesperson Mirwais Stanekzai.

Top Ten Terrorists: Jammu and Kashmir Police Releases Names

Inspector-General of Police (IGP) of Jammu and Kashmir Police Department Vijay Kumar gave the list of the top ten terrorists who are the target of the security forces and the police. Salim Parray, Yousuf Kantroo, Abbas Sheikh, Reyaz Shetergund, Farooq Nali, Zubair Wani, and Ashraf Molvi are the seven old terrorists. Along with them, three new names have been added. They are Saqib Manzoor, Umer Mushtaq Khandey, and Wakeel Shah.

US Forces To Leave Iraq By End Of 2021 Says US President Joe Biden

Following his talks with Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa-al-Kadhimi, US President Joe Biden announced on July 26 that the US forces' mission will conclude and they will withdraw from Iraq by the end of 2021. However, the US troops will continue to train and advise the Iraqi military to its fight against ISIS (Islamic State Militant Group), Biden said. There are currently 2,500 US troops in Iraq.

262 Taliban Terrorists Killed in Afghanistan, Claims Defense Ministry

At least 262 Taliban terrorists have been killed, 176 injured, and as many as 21 IED bombs were defused during an operation carried out by Afghan Forces in various provinces in the last 24 hours, claims the Ministry of Defense of Afghanistan. Reportedly, the Afghan government has imposed a curfew to restrict the Taliban from invading cities. The Afghan-Taliban feud escalated since the withdrawal of the American forces.
