For the 385-village relocation project planned in 2017 by the Uttarakhand government, work for 5 villages have been started following the government's Rs 2.38-crore fund allocation on February 11. Uttarakhand government has initiated a scheme called 'Tourist Incentive Coupon' for the tourists wishing to visit the state. The scheme includes a voucher of Rs 1,000 for accommodations at any destination in Uttarakhand. Reportedly, tourists who will opt for three-day stay at any hotel/homestay in the state can avail this offer. The offer will be rolled out soon and will be available to those visiting the state under "tourist category".
