Uttarakhand Govt Announces New COVID Guidelines; Restricts Public Gatherings
Uttarakhand government has announced a fresh COVID-19 guidelines on April 16, to tackle increasing number of cases. The government has capped the maximum capacity of 200 people to attend religious and social gatherings. While gyms and public transport will be operated at 50% of their occupancy, coaching centres and swimming pools will remain shut until next order.. Besides, a night curfew from 10:30 PM to 5 AM will be imposed.

Uttarakhand Starts Villages' Relocation; Entire Project Needs Rs 10,000 Cr
For the 385-village relocation project planned in 2017 by the Uttarakhand government, work for 5 villages have been started following the government's Rs 2.38-crore fund allocation on February 11. Uttarakhand Govt Shuts Schools Again As 80 Teachers Test COVID Positive
After around 80 teachers tested positive for COVID-19, Uttarakhand government has ordered the closure of schools in the region affected. Reportedly, 84 schools in five blocks of Pauri district were shut again, just days after their reopening on November 2. The State Health Secretary has also directed all the District Magistrates of the state to conduct the COVID-19 test of all the teachers who are on-duty.

Uttarakhand Govt to Limit Number of Pilgrims In Haridwar Kumbha Mela 2021
Uttarakhand CM Trivendra Singh Rawat has decided to organize the Haridwar Kumbha Mela 2021 in a restricted manner with limitations in the number of pilgrims. The decision was taken to contain the spread of COVID-19. He said, "Passes will be issued to devotees as the congregation will be numerically restricted due to the coronavirus pandemic."
