Kerala Reports Second Confirm Case Of Monkeypox: Veena George
In Kerala, the second case of monkeypox have been reported in Kerala, on July 18. A 31-year-old man, a native of Kannur, who arrived in Kerala from Dubai, last week is said to be positive for monkeypox, confirmed state Health Minister Veena George. This is the second Monkeypox case in Kerala, as well as India. The patient is admitted at the Pariyaram Medical College and is under a doctor's supervision.

Rotten Shawarma Killed 1, Left 18 Student Sick In Kerala's Kasaragod District
A 17-year-old student died and 18 others fell sick after eating "Shawarma" at a food stall in Cheruvathur town of Kasaragod district, Kerala. Happened on May 1, the incident gained attention, demanding action against the stall, as after eating rotten shawarma from the stall students suffered food poisoning. Kerala Health Minister Veena George ordered an investigation. Furthermore, the stall has been sealed and the cook is under custody.

Kerala Reports 29 New Omicron Cases, Tally At 181: Veena George
Omicron, new variant of COVID-19, continues to rise in Kerala, with 29 new cases, on January 3. The Kerala Health Minister Veena George said, "Among those found infected today, 25 came from low-risk countries, two from high-risk countries and two in Alappuzha contracted the disease from their contacts, taking the overall tally to 181. In addition, 42 people were discharged, taking the active Omicron tally to 139 in Kerala.

Kerala: Health Minister Warns On Confirmed Norovirus In Wayanad
Kerala Health Minister Veena George, on November 12, reported that we've found traces of Norovirus in the district of Wayanad. The virus is an animal bourne disease transmitted through contaminated water and food, with symptoms of nausea, vomiting, fever, and body aches, said reports. Reportedly, It's can be dangerous for young children. The government urged citizens to be vigilant and released preventive guidelines to contain the virus.

Kerala: In A First, Woman Journo-Turned-Politician To Become Minister
Creating history, Veena George, a member of CPI(M), will become the first journalist-turned-minister in Kerala. George has worked in various Malayalam news channels as a journalist and had entered politics in 2016 after winning an assembly seat from Pathanamthitta district. Having a Masters degree in Physics, George will be a part of the Pinarayi Vijayan-led Cabinet and will take oath on May 20 along with other newly-appointed ministers.
