ECI Announces Odisha Panchayat Polls, Scheduled From Feb 16
The ECI, on January 11, announced the Odisha Panchayat Poll schedule. The five phased elections will begin from February 16, followed by February 18, 20, 22 and 24. Polling will be held between 7:00 am to 1:00 pm, to elect 91,913 ward members, 6,794 sarpanches and 6,793 panchayat members. At least 2.79 crore voters are eligible to cast votes and results will be announced on February 26, 27 and 28.

WB Polls: EVMs Malfunction Delays Voting Process, Escalates COVID Risk
EVMs in several areas of WB malfunctioned on April 10, causing inconvenience to the voters due to which the voting process delayed almost an hour. The EVM at Ranikuthi Government Housing estate of Tollygunge failed thrice before technicians were called to fix the issue. "By the time the EVM had been fixed, the queue had lengthened....no social distancing which made it quite risky," a resident said.

TN: Erode District Authorities To Give 19 Lakh Free Gloves For Voters
